    Default AVI or Video Compression

Can anyone tell me how to compress a movie file (with AVI extension that I view via Quicktime). Wanting to know so that I can save the clips to disk and if possible, email out to friends.
Clips are under 8megs at present.
    Thank you.

You dont 'compress' an AVI file to quicktime .mov file.
These are both completely seperate compression/storage formats, for uncompressed film footage you are talking 1Mb per second as a rule of thumb.
Your decision as to which format to use, should depend on what you want the film for, and what sort of quality you want. But as mentioned, at present DivX beats everything else hands down.
Just make sure you dont forget the hyphen in the address, divxdigest is a site selling DVD's...
