Default Running PHP script in background

Is there a way to do this? I have heard of using a "cron job" to do this, but I cannot seem to set one up... Click image for larger version.

Basically, my script accesses an API, gets a value and stores the value into a MySQL database. I want this script to be executed every 10 minutes. Is there another/easier way to do this?

EDIT: Problem solved! was fixed by changing 10 to */10.

Not sure whether this is still relevant if you execute your script via the php command, but is the script file marked as executable? - eg chmod +x myscript.php.
