    Default Recovery Partition on Playtech Machine

    Im fixing a family members pc that they bought from playtech a while ago and I noticed that there is a recovery partition on the hard drive, is there any way I can use that to fix the pc?

    depends what's on it. Ask playtech what key you push to boot from it. Is it bootable or does it just have backup images in it.

    If there's an ISO on it burn it. Either find the program to burn it in the menu, or if it boots copy the ISO from it then burn it

    Try pressing the function keys while rebooting, or press F8 and see if there's a recovery choice in that boot menu.

    The pc wont boot so hopefully the partition does not need an app.
    And you really think Playtech will tell me?
    They will want the pc brought in to them to look at.
    Might try pressing buttons after I copy the data off.

    Assuming its windows 7 it will more than likely be a .WIM file, NOT an ISO file. (they are different)

    You will need to know the key combination to start off the recovery, or it could also be in the startup options.

    Turns out that the pc came with a Playtech Recovery disk, which the family could not find at the time.
