Talking Torchwood: "Miracle Day" Aired Last Night

Never saw the original show - missed it somehow - but this Miracle Day premier just got to me.

    Wow! Great stuff!

Sidebar: I met a guy with what I thought was a NZ accent. I asked him if he was from Upsidedown Land, and he said he's from "The Old New Zealand: England".

    I didn't know that.

I thought when I first came here Joe that NZ was antipodean to England but was quickly told approximately this:

See especially: List of antipodes 4
It's not the least charm of a theory that it is refutable. The hundred-times-refuted theory of "free will" owes its persistence to this charm alone; some one is always appearing who feels himself strong enough to refute it - Friedrich Nietzsche

Way back in the olden days (the 1950s and 1960s) I seem to remember England being referred to as the Mother Country or the Home Country.

    Not any longer.

I too missed when if the original series was screened here so on suggestion of a person at work, bit torrented the first series. Great stuff. Have since ordered series 1-4 on blu rar which should arrive next week. (Got to love the strong dollar $70 !).

Similar experience with Firefly which I dont think ever screened here. Also found on bit torrent and subsequently bought on DVD. - irony - since lent that dvd to about 10 other people

TVNZ had the rights last time so don't expect to see it anytime soon. I believe it is to be shown in AU in the next week or two.

Joe. Is it still on BBC America or moved to another channel as I believe that there are two versions?? The BBC one is a bit sanitized to reflect the earlier hour of showing..

Have download ep1 but haven't had a chance to see it yet..

It is no longer a BBC series - instead it has the characters moving to the US and the FBI/CIA is involved.

I bet this is to cater the the US audience.

Lots of protest in the UK about that too for sure!

Our cable SCIFY has it now on Fri nights at 10PM

Watched the S4 premier yesterday. I like it. Hopefully it will be more gruesome than DW.
