    Arrow Windows 7- Speed Up..

    Hi.

I am interested in speeding up my Windows 7 Toshiba Laptop.
I know I can reinstall Windows 7, but I don't want to if it isn't necessary.

I can delete stuff or clean my computer. But what should I delete or how should I clean my computer?

*I was also wondering if I can make a new user account and copy necessary information/ programs and give my new account admin rights then delete my current user account.

Because my computer use to be faster than it is now. (It was only a year ago I brought it =)

    Thanks

installing programs and even using your computer on a day to day basis can seriously slow it down, as can installing updates and whatever else.

    Google CCleaner, and run that.
Check for any unnecessary startup programs (ie quicktime, apple stuff, etc etc) because they can seriously slow things down.

Speedy and PCtek should be along at some point, they're full of useful advice.

What sort of skill level are you at? Like, what do you know how to do?

Whats the specs? Get rid of anything with the word Norton / Symantec in it, and any trial programs

Post a hijackthis log, that will spot an malware problems and show if you have crapware running.
    For starters.

Ok. Thanks for tips. Already have a free Norton Scanner.

Would making a new user account and giving it admin
rights, then deleting my current one help? Thanks for your support!!
