    Default Blue screen of death

My main computer has just died on boot comes up with:
call your hardware vendor for support nmi parity check memory parity error the system has halted.
Tried all options on safe mode like with and without networking last known configuration that works.
There was a yellow exclamation mark on the lucent modem on device manager I think I clicked something and it went to the bsod. Goes to bsod just after the xp splash screen.
dell inspron computer about 2006 model xp
    Thanks for any help

    Prefect,

Do you have broadband on this PC and have an ADSL modem connected as well?

If so then I would remove the dialup Lucent Modem as a first step as it's fairly ancient.

    Prefect,

Can you open the case and remove the dialup Lucent Modem if you are capable of doing so?

Also have you tried using a boot CD/DVD like your original O/S and boot off that?

As well I think you had a tech not far from you as I remember it from one of your other posts.

I was trying to help but if you can't remove the Lucent Modem or answer the questions I posed then I'm stuck I guess.
