Daughter sends un wanted email every day

Some would say I am lucky having a daughter that sends me an email just about every day - but neither of us feel that way.
You see the emails consist of only ever one line which is a link to some site or other.
None of the emails have been sent by my daughter.

In other words some program has taken over her computer - accessed her mailing list and is using it to send out advertising stuff. Clever!
But of course we want to stop it.
I haven't needed much in the way of stopping this sort of thing and my daughter is computer literate but by no means an expert.
So we need help. Can you recommend a program she can download to stop this (or any other action she needs to take).

Nothing much she can do really as it will probably be spam email being sent out using her email address in the from field. It will be sent to many other addresses as well apart from yours.
Can you post a copy of the email so we can take a look at it.

Set a spam filter to filter out links etc. as a temporary solution, maybe? As a full solution, get a good antivirus program (can't think of any at the top of my head right now, others on here will know of one) and do a full scan to make sure there is nothing untoward on her laptop.

Don't know if your Daughter is computer literate but between you ,daughter and speedy it may be a easy fix through a high-jack it log which she can send you and you post for speedy

She should have the following:

Antivirus:
Nod32 or MS Security Essentials
AntiSpyware: Spybot plus Malware Bytes or Superantispyware

All 3 need to be updated first - every week, then scan the PC at least once a week.

And you should check the webmail account (Sent Items) to make sure the online web account hasn't been compromised - if you can see the not-from-your-daughter emails in the sent items, someone has cracked the password.

But it's probably more likely the sender email address is being spoofed...

Tell her to turn off the computer for 24 hours (or just to stay disconnected from the internet for 24 hours) - if the emails still arrive, then they're not coming off her computer.
