Default Power booster cables do exist for USB micro...

...Western Digital just sent me one. (AKA Y-cable) It took 3 days from Singapore under FedEx "extremely urgent". That was after they sent me the "mini" version in error. I am quite impressed by their response overall.

(And the new cable has solved the problem! which was WD Elements SE 500GB portable HDD - code 1023 - not working on my media player. Thanks to feersuminjun for insisting it was a power problem. The drives - I have 2 of them - would not respond to attempts to access them but gave a click every 2 sec. But occasionally they did work. A powered hub removed the clicks but still didn't work.)
    Ryzen 7 1700 @ stock, EVO 960 500GB M.2 NVMe, G-Skill 2 x 16GB @ 2.4GHz,
