Timeout Reading Com4

Trying to send some texts with PC software connected to my mobile phone but it keeps saying Timeout reading com4. Have tried other USB ports and get the same error, except Com6 etc.

Win7, Asus K50ij laptop.

Windows are saying the drivers are up to date too.

What mobile is it? Kill UAC, then reboot. Then see what happens

That annoying thing that comes up all the time when you run something - user account control. Under control panel / user accounts

Com 4 is likely to be a serial port though.

Com8, Com10, Com6 all do the same thing (all my usb ports)

So what PC software are you trying to use with the Phone?
