    Default "KIWI STAMP"

I always buy my NZ postage stamps in a 10 off booklet.
On the front it says"KiwiStamp.Holds its value forever. Sweet."
And inside it says "A kiwi stamp will always be worth the required domestic postage".
So! you may ask what is all this about? Well I bought a booklet last Sunday from Countdown and inside the booklet was a row of 10c stamps stapled to the booklet. I shall not use these as the KIWI STAMP always keeps its value???.
I was charged $6.00.FOR THIS BOOKLET.

I just posted 6 cards at our local dairy and was given 6 Kiwi Stamps and they cost $3.60.
Yes, to post a standard letter or card now it costs 0.60c.
Not quite sure if you are griping about that or not?

    I'm not sure about the whole post since 10 x 10c = $1.00.

    Should be 10 x 60c I would have thought = $6.00.

What it means is,if you bought a booklet of 50c stamps b4 they went up to 60c, the 50c stamp will still be accepted to send anywhere in NZ.

I wonder at the reason for stamps with no amount on them. Is it because in the past they have printed stamps with a fixed denomination only to have the price go up before they are all sold? They either continue to sell the old stamps and make a loss or dump the old stamps and, once again, make a loss. Perhaps that is a way of offsetting the loss?

In the past NZ Post have issued temporary 5c/10c stamps that allow the old stamps to be used.

When you consider that thousands of folk collect stamps - they buy them and keep them stashed away unused, then it has been like printing their own money for NZ Post... every time they change the face of the stamp another $4000 worth go into collectors piles without ever going through the post. No wonder they were always changing the designs.

Now it seems, you can use the old one to do the job.

$6.00 is the current price so if you got any extra stamps that must be a bonus.
