No - it has "Best Before" dates. It does go off (eventually), especially the stuff in lighter coloured bottles.

Oh well, at least it's not NZ-brewed Carlsberg - I certainly wouldn't pay a premium price for ANY premium 'imported' brand if it was brewed here. It's NEVER as good as the real thing.

Review the Turkish stuff please roddy_boy....

    Carlsberg, Turkish brewed.

    Pale lager(?). 5.0% alc v/v.
    Unit price $1.04

Appearance: Pours a classic pale lager with little head. Light effervescence.
Smell: Mild aromas of sweet esters, but nothing really of note.
Taste: Sweet taste, very mild. Incredibly simple taste, really can't talk about much here. Lack of carbonation very obvious.

    Rating: 6/10
    Value for money: 11/10

I've never reviewed anything before btw.

I've actually seen this beer brewed in Copenhagen, its proper home.

And I did the same in Dublin with Guinness. And with Heineken in Holland. And I seem to remember a brewery in Germany...

But before anyone starts thinking of me as a beer connoisseur -

    a) It was a looong time ago
    b) I wouldn't be the first young woman to "trade" the occasional museum or art gallery visit with her kiwi bloke...

x2, probably better than some of the critics at the Royal NZ Herald, for example.

Is Carlsberg a Lager? Generally any hint of esters is a no-no in a lager. But at that unit price $1.04, who cares? What a great buy.

Anyone else here tried a local Dunedin brewery, Emersons?

All their beers are amazing, but the Bookbinder, and organic Pilsner are two favourites of mine. . . . .About $9 a glass though

So the review could be interpreted -

    Looks like beer
    Packed like beer
    Tastes like beer (used)
    Smells like something else
Has a head like a good cup of tea
Cans are waterproof, recyclable, and anti-magnetic

Used for - Economical beer substitute for the latter stages of a long session.

    it used to be.
