Default Fatal exception - blue screen

We are getting lots of blue screen fatal exception messages - 'fatal exception OE 0028:CI5CF8A3 +n VXD MCSCAN32(01)+ 000278A3' then Ctrl+Alt+Del will close down etc.
We are also getting lots of illegal operations windows starting when opening a new page within a site !!
    Any assistance gratefully welcome.

    What browser are you using?
My guess would be IE, as its 'integrated' so causes windows to die when it crashes.

MCSCAN32 seems to be related to McAfee VirusScanner. I havn't used it in a while but I think there is an option where it scans webpages for bad stuff, prehaps a reinstall of the virus scanner will fix it.
Another possibility is you are infected with spyware, many of them track where you go, and they are badly programmed so crash quite often. Try a run of Adaware (www.lavasoftusa.com).

    hi Jude,
there is a sevice pack from McAfee which fixes this problem. Don't ask me why it just begins happening out of the blue, it just does...
