Default Are You Keen On Sport?

Are you keen on sport? Do you support The Bulls, The Cheetahs or The Force?

Are you that passionate about supporting your team that you would like others to support your team as well?

Perhaps your team, be they The Hurricanes, The Blues or The Crusaders, could do with more fans, particularly from those not quite as keen as you, people who might be interested in cheering along with you if they knew which team to support.

And that is where the problem lies for those of us on the periphery. Would you like us to support your team? Many Wellington people (for example) may wish to barrack for the Wellington team if only they knew what the name of the Wellington team was.

Is there some reason why they cannot be called the Wellington Sharks, or the Christchurch Central Pulse?

If all these names included the area from whence they came (the Auckland Bulls or the Dunedin Cheetahs, for example) then the uninitiated among us (and that includes me) would have some idea of the name of their home team and may be more supportive.

Or do the sporting fanatics want to keep that information to themselves and so exclude the people who might wish to support their local team?

Iím not suggesting that someone post a long list of all the teams and their locations. That would be boring. Iím just curious as to why there is no clue, in the team name, as to what part of the country they come from.

If the World cup was held in my back yard I'd be inside having a beer.

No. Cant watch any of them anyway. Dont have sky, and dont intend to get it. Its a waste of money. And some of them need to learn how to tackle properly (instead of dumping), and catching the ball. Rather play softball. Which is what I used to play at college

I haven't seen softball played here but some people carry bats regardless.

Maybe its time to play it then. It'll probably be better than rugby anyway
