Default MS DOS on WIN7 Virtual disk?

Would it be possible to run MS Dos 6.22 on a Win7 virtual drive?

I have obtained a copy of Dos and intend to setup an old PC so I can "play around" and re-live the past. But, could I install it on the Win7 machine in virtual mode?

Also, the Win7 machine has two IDE HDD's. Could I dual boot from the second drive? What size partition should Dos go on?

For running old DOS games & apps in Win7, your best bet is probably DOSBox.
It looks like DOS will run in MS Virtual PC (not supported) and in VMWare Workstation (supported).
As for partition size, you won't need much. DOS only requires a few MB. Give it a few 100 and that should last a while

Well I still have original MSDOS 6.22 and WIN 3.11 3.5 inch disks and also MS FlightSim 1. MSDOS 5.0 on one 5.25 floppy which came with GWBasic.

MSFlight Sim on one 3.5 floppy.
MSDos 6.22 on three 3.5 floppies
Win 3.11 on 6 3.5 floppies and two of those were drivers.

Those days we had printed manuals even. :-)

Now running Win 7 64 bit pro.

So will my Logitech USB joystick be usable in a virtual PC?

Just curious and not to annoy you.

    That was a 486DX/100

Windows Virtual PC supports virtualising USB devices as well, but not against a DOS guest VM!

    USB wasn't supported until Win95 OSR2 IIRC

I didn't think USB would be available but I had to ask.

DOS doesn't support USB, so sticking it into a VM doesn't retrospectively add USB support!
