    RIP Sir Howard. He was probably one of NZs most respected entertainers. I remember as a boy seeing him and his quartet playing at the Rotorua Soundshell over the Christmas and New Year holiday period around about 1960.

    The Latin for RIP is Requiescat in Pace and was mostly used in Catholic funeral services. Nowadays it is used for any Christian service, although I doubt that many would know the Latin unless they were Catholic.
