    Default Getting Rid Of Moss

Has anyone used 30 Second Wet And Forget to get rid of moss on cocrete paths, did it work? I have also heard using full strength Janola will do the job, what do you think? I also have 3 cats, would it be safe to let them walk on the paths while still wet or should I keep them inside until the paths are dry? Thanks.

I just use boiling water, no chemicals, still have to scrape it away when it dies off though, whatever you use. Yes Janola is very good, but no, not good for cats.

Thankyou lakewoodlady for your quick response. I think I may use boiling water just to be on the safe side although I might still use Janola on some of the heavily infested areas.

Spray Sulphate of iron on moss its not really toxic except to moss.
The moss goes all black and shrivels up, real neat death to moss.

I've used 30 second wet and forget, It works very well but....
If you read the instructions it's not 30 seconds. depending on the surface, eg concrete masonry and tiles you need to keep them wet with the stuff for 15 minutes.

I wouldn't use full strength Janola unless you want every thing turned white. (W&F does smell like bleach though)

You will find that Wet and Forget, Gone in 30 seconds, Janola all have various strengths of Sodium Hypochlorite, which amongst other things is also used in some swimming pool chemicals.

So, we should forbid the cats from swimming on the path too ?

    Where will the run-off go?

Bleach & similar chemicals might give your flower garden or lawn a nasty shock.
The moss might be preferable to toxic dirt...
