Hi, I have accom at Ohakune and I booked lessons with Whakapapa, I will be taking the bus up the mountain. Is this going to be an issue? Or would Turoa be more suitable for me?
Thanks.

Well considering that Ohakune is at the bottom of the mountain on the Turoa side that would be the place I would go.
Otherwise it's a trip around to the other side of the mountain which would be time wasted that could be used on the mountain![]()
Nevermind I got Matai YHA backpackers mixed up with National Park- all saved.
I have the booking with YHA National Park.
National Park is closer to Whakapapa right ...
Since I am from Wellington for next trips .. which would you pick - Turoa or Whakapapa?
Both are inconvenient if you intend to travel by boat.
Entropy is not what
it used to be.
If you're learning to ski, the size of the fields or the respective features of either are somewhat irrelevant.
From Wgton Turoa is closer, so I'd stick with that.
When you've got the whole skiing thing sorted, then maybe go to W/papa and 'branch out', so to speak.
As Cyabro wisely pointed out, time getting to W/papa is skiing time lost. All a learner needs is snow.
