Default Most popular fonts and size for email??

Can someone please share with me the most popular\commonly used fonts and size for writing emails. I seem to have lost my defaults. Would you use the same configuration for replying to and forwarding email? I know that it is a matter of person preference but there must be a commonally used configuration acceptable to the majority of users. A very sincere thank you, in anticipation.

Most common fonts are Times Roman, Arial, Comic Sans, my preferance is Comic Sans. Font size 8, 10 or 12.

Standard practise is to send all email in plain text. Sending email with HTML tags or attachments in proprietry formats will only frustrate your recipients.

In fact, I make a point of not reading email with HTML tags, but instead I send back a message along the lines of 'please resend this message in plain text if you want me to read it'.

Verdana, size 8 or 10 in bold is quite good.
