    Re: Yahoo Xtra BCC problem

I have seen that before, but it was an intermittent problem that fixed itself. Never did find any reason for it.

    Re: Satellite TV deals

Does anyone in CHCH know what is causing UHF Freeview to glitch sometime between 7 & 7:30 every morning in Templeton? I was staying there a couple of weeks ago & was told it happens every morning.

Each has some things it does better than the other, but both are very good.

    Re: False advertising

You must be tagged as a sucker. My ads are for a crap Telecom broadband package & the HP revolve, which actually looks interesting (but way beyond my budget)

    Re: ANZ Direct and iPad

It is useful for custom business applications, but should be kept well away from the internet & is far too slow for mainstream applications. If it wasn't for the Unifi controller software using it,...

    Re: Orcon to Telecom

If only all mail servers supported this, and IMAP too, and before the wishlist closes, lets add a reasonable amount of storage.

It is so they can say they are "being proactive about preventing spambots on their network" by making sure you can't use port 25 on their network unless you are connecting to their server. Also,...

Re: Tv as a PC monitor

I have found some TVs (Panasonic seems to be the worst offender) auto-configure to 1024x768 instead of 1366x768 or 1920x1080. That could be part of the reason why some of the computer + TV setups...

Re: John Mcafee mocks Mcafee AV

I thought Peter Norton was only involved with the now defunct Norton Utilities, not the anti-virus? It did used to be good, but did he have anything to do with that?

  20. Re: What is Vodafone's broadband service like these days?

Invercargill is bloody cold & there was a tick layer of hail early this morning, but no snow. Since then, it has been switching between bright sunshine & heavy rain at a moment's notice.

Re: Can Xbox games be backed up?

Ask your local DVD rental shop if they offer a DVD scratch repair service? Most of those places have high end scratch repair equipment that works a lot better than anything home users have access to.
