Re: Power supply on way out?

Ladies and gentlemen of the forum, I have something a little embarrassing to share, but in the interest of others learning from my experience I'm willing to show my blushes:blush::blush::blush:

Re: Power supply on way out?

Just the PC (inc monitor), printer and speakers. That's not unusual, is it?
I'm confident it's nothing to do with the house wiring (or surge protector or). I'm more and more confident that it's...

It is powered and I'll test your suggestion this evening. Thanks!

Re: Power supply on way out?

Thanks pctek and KarameaDave and linw.
In one of those mid-night aha moments (tested this morning) I've found it's something to do with the recently purchased USB hub. Essentially, hub plugged in...

Re: Power supply on way out?

Thanks for the replies. No, it's not hibernating and I''ve set the cmos/bios settings to "optimised defaults".
I haven't been working on the problem for a few days and got on to it again last...

Re: Power supply on way out?

I've done a couple of tests this morning. After logging in I waited a couple of minutes and shut down, at attempted start up same problem occurred. Shut down and left for 1.5 hours, same result.

Re: Internet Crime Complaint Center Virus

Not unless you buy a licence for each PC, although if you buy 3 together (on New Zealand eset site anyway) it's cheaper (NZ$70 for 1, $137 for 3) than buying individually.

It's consistently not working every morning. Mind you, it's summer so it's been consistently warm!

    Power supply on way out?

    Hi all.
Over the last few weeks my PC has not been wanting to start in the morning. I power down at night and in the morning pushing the start button does nothing - no lights, no noise, nothing. ...

    Re: Powered USB hub recommendations

    Thanks Agent_24 - much appreciated.
My PC has 2x 3.0 ports at the back so I'll splash out for a 3.0 hub.

    Hi all.

I'm after powered USB hub recommendations -around $50 and 4 -7 USB ports. Don't know if there's any advantage in going for USB 3.0 so I'm particularly interested in your views on this...

    Re: Sony Internet TV

I've noticed that some manufacturers are now including a "web browser" as part of the functionality of their TV's (in addition to their widgets). Can I assume this means that you CAN surf the net?

Re: Just got a bit of new real estate

Oops! It's actually the VX2453mh I've got - I looked it up and the only diff appears to be 24 inch Vs 27 (and the 27 being about double the price). Still, apart from those 3 inches it looks like the...

Re: Just got a bit of new real estate

Cool! I've got this model as well (went from a 19 inch Dell) as was VERY impressed by the improvement (the HD6850 vid card would have helped too). Took a bit of getting used to (my games were...

    Re: HD6870 vs GTX560 Ti

    Isn't that 560 $30 (not $10) more?
And that's about as useful as I get - except to say the 6850 I have is fairly close to the 6870 for about $50 less.

    Re: Router suggestions please.

I should imagine the 'N' laptop isn't restricted to 'N' - could be changed to 'G'? But you're right, I understand the 54GL is b/g only.

Nope, not dumb - you should have heard me swear the first time I set up my router. Got there eventually with the kind help of the folks here.
