Will try going through that otherwise will try Agent_24's suggestion using that program.

Would rather not do another clean install if I can avoid it.

Old HDD was completely dead, so it was a clean install.

Have exactly the same programs as I did on the old HDD if that makes any difference.

Every so often (I'd say every 1 in 4 start ups) over half my start up programs do not start on start up and I have to reboot or open...

Been waiting for it to happen again, but it seems to have fixed itself?

Maybe something was lose and it came right? No new software was installed or any other program changes.

Laptop was bought in January this year so is under warranty.

Is it just a coincidence it's happened now or related to the replacing of the HDD?

Alright had to enable legacy in the boot to get it to read it.

GetDataBack would not boot all the way through, just went to a blank screen after the initial window.

So basically the only way to not void the warranty is to hope it hasn't completely failed...

Hp pavilion 15-p011tx less than 6 months old the hdd has just crapped out on me.

Originally it was saying hard drive short dst check failed and now on the boot screen it's saying the smart check...
