    Re: Yahoo!Xtra mail fail

Also often a euphemism for legacy software so far out of support it's not funny and patched to **** with 3rd party hacks to keep it wheezing for another few years.

  8. Re: 21 year old has his $65k car stolen at gunpoint??

It's effectively a supercar, right? Goes toe to toe with the Ferrari 458 Italia.
  9. Re: 21 year old has his $65k car stolen at gunpoint??

It's easy enough for a car like that to rack up $65k in receipts. The body kit alone could have been $10k just to land it here, never mind painting and fitting. And if he has it insured for that...
  10. Re: Monster Audio Cables vs Coat Hanger Wires = No Difference

Yeah me too, they tend to have a pretty significant drop in signal around the 1.6M mark.
  11. Re: Monster Audio Cables vs Coat Hanger Wires = No Difference

I used to sell plenty of Monster cables when I worked at Harvey Norman a lifetime ago. Felt bad for suckers but it was a commission-based role what do you expect me to do.

    Anyhoo, the sales rep...

  13. Re: Uncapped UFB with Xtra, when is it likely to end?

    Re: Installing SSD Help

AMD chipsets are generally better than Intel chipsets for SSD performance in my experience. But yeah try plugging the SSD into the other controller - can't hurt to check. On a clean install you...

Re: How much car servicing is really essential?

Also interesting to note is that the manufacturer's replacement period for the timing belt on most older Honda's is 160,000KM, not 100,000KM, yet there is so much fear around this component failing...

Re: How much car servicing is really essential?

I bought a unloved 92 prelude with 260K on the clock recently for about $1600. Looks like nothing had been attended to in about 50K or so (apart from oil). For about $300 I went and bought OEM oil...

    Re: Porsche hypercar hits Nurburgring

There is a lot of misinformation regarding the environmental impact of Hybrids vs conventional cars out there (and conversely a lot of bullshit from Hybrid manufacturers to balance it out).

    Re: Porsche hypercar hits Nurburgring

Personally I can't wait until hydrogen fuel cells and ultracaps are mainstream tech.

Motorsport won't quite be the same in the post-combustion era though, unless the low "woosh" of electric cars...

Re: fastest / cheapest legal funeral possible in NZ

I've told my wife several times although she refuses to take me seriously that on my 85th birthday I wish to be shot out into space in a capsule with a nice view port and at least two weeks's worth...
