  1. Re: The Moon Doesn't Exist Unless You're Looking....

It's not a matter of seeing the moon then shutting your eyes to make it go out of existence, it's a matter of everyone not believing such a thing exists. Does the moon exist in that case? No - the...
  2. Re: The Moon Doesn't Exist Unless You're Looking....

The modern version of Einstein's question is If you toss a 100% fair coin in a 100% random manner and it falls on the floor, does it have real value (H or T) before anyone looks at it?

    The answer...

    POST problem - Nissan Leaf

I turned it on yesterday and it wouldn't POST. Called the AA and he diagnosed a flat 12V battery, which he jumpered like a regular car and it POSTed fine. (The book was insistent about connecting the...

    Re: I don't have a partner - I have a wife.

I refer to my wife by her name

Most strangers immediately guess who I'm referring to but occasionally they ask.

To me, using her name is more indicative of a close relationship than "my wife"...

Re: Pike Mine re-entry, $26Million not enough

    100% agree

I also find it sad that the families haven't moved on.

What do they seek to accomplish by re-burying the bones elsewhere? Sounds like superstition to me
  8. Re: "Partitions not in recommended order. Do you want to proceed?"

Brilliant! (Copying across the bookmarks file)

Of course, I first had to find the (hidden) appdata folder. For a while I thought I might have to use Google... :)

    Thanks
  9. Re: "Partitions not in recommended order. Do you want to proceed?"

Thank you Wainui - a useful video. My problem is I didn't choose "offline account"! I will re-install to get that right. Might be able to correct the partition problem at the same time?

    I am...
  10. "Partitions not in recommended order. Do you want to proceed?"

I'm reinstalling Windows and got that message. I selected Proceed and it seems to be working OK up to now

But I wouldn't like it to cause problems in the future after I've installed all my apps

  11. Re: Weird Science: Another Easter Island mystery solved

The idea that there might be life on other planets is not very scientific. It assumes that randomness and probability have a say in things.

But why should we assume that? We have just ONE example...

    Re: Love my electric blanket

I had that exact problem but after 40 years (coming up in December) I think I've solved it

    File Explorer scrolls continuously

File Explorer won't "keep still" in my Win10Pro installation that I use for a media centre. It continuously scrolls to one end of the range of folders and I can't select anything in the middle.
