    Re: Help is at hand.

feed them slop via a tube. Its now the only safe way .
Better wrap them in bubble wrap & tape the little buggers to the floor , god knows what could happen if allowed to walk around .

    I dont...

    Re: Advice on backup options

Ive had that issue with a server , it mirrored the corrupted hard drive. :-(

As for backup to NAS, Most NAS's have a backup to USB HD option , the NAS really does need to be backed up

    Re: Windows System Restore-Yeah Right!

System restore IS NOT A BACKUP . Its just a QUICK tool to try for an easy fix.

Its not 100% perfect , & doesnt allways work regardless .
Win10 does delete restore points ,especially after a...
  6. Re: Windows 10 inbuilt Defender/Firewall or Third Party?

Of the AV's I commonly see , Eset AV is by far the easiest to use/deal with : ie whitelist files , check logs , check quarantine & restore files etc.

  7. Re: Windows 10 inbuilt Defender/Firewall or Third Party?

I dont like the all in 1 , all dancing all singing, do everything Internet Security programs . :-)
  8. Re: Windows 10 inbuilt Defender/Firewall or Third Party?

Most people dont need a 3rd party firewall . Just use the MS Win Firewall .

Viruses can get past ALL AV programs, both free & paid for.
    so.....

AVG/Avast : avoid like the plague
    MS Defender :...

Re: black mould on exposed aggregate concrete

wet & forget is more like a anti-fungal anti mold.
It takes a while to kill it & wont 'clean' the dead mold .

I'll bet 30sec is more like Janola . It will bleach the black areas back to white....

Re: best disk to disk copy software

If you want a 'local' win10 user a/c , on your new machine

A clone is often a sector by sector clone , that takes upteen hours and wont work on smaller disks
But in some software, a clone is a copy: copies only data & boot...

Re: 3rd party laser toner and drums?

By streaks , you mean parts of the print missing : if so get a new toner cart

If you see a haze, or lines down the page , or lines across the page (repeated 3x on the page) : get a drum
