    Re: Windows 8 System Refresh

I've done a refresh just so I didn't lose my user data. It should be under Change PC Settings and you have to go through a few menus to do it, I've never seen it appear as a popup.

Re: Need to enter admin password twice

An admin account should never be used as a normal day to day account; that would be akin to logging in as root and using that day to day in linux. User account control (when logged in as admin) is...

    Why don't carriers like tethering?

    Hi
I don't know what the situation is like in NZ as I moved overseas. But why don't mobile carriers like tethering? If my mobile contract gives me 1gb of data per month, why does the carrier care...
  9. Re: Anyone installed Windows 8.1 Update via windows update?

I prefer Win 8 over 7. I miss the improved task manager and file transfer window when using 7 at work. Not to mention all the other things underneath such as fast boot/resume and wifi reconnection.

  12. Anyone installed Windows 8.1 Update via windows update?

It is April 8 and the update is supposed to be available today, and despite having the prerequisite KB2919442 installed, I can't see the update (KB2919355) listed in the list of windows updates.

Re: Minimum specs for 720P playback?

m parents have an HP DM1Z notebook, probably the same as yours? It plays back 720 content fine. It also depends on the bitrate.

Re: What are your overclocking specs?

Athlon XP 1800+, overclocked fsb from 133 to 145, so clock speed increases from 1533 to 1667.
