    They were all 2 story units. Earthquakes were the excuse for getting rid of them from memory. That alone was crazy as they were well built weatherboard units. Had a lot of bad Tennant's as well....

    As a follow up, that house of ours went up 73 times its cost.

    Wages (average) in 1969 was around $50/wk. Multiply that by 73 and it comes to $3650/wk.

    Does not add up does it?

    Our first house was in Buckland Rd in Mangere East, about 100 metres from our shop. We paid $9,000 for it in February 1969.

    Its current value is rated between $1.44M and $1.66M. Effing ridiculous!...
