    Re: Slow speeds internationally

    Re: Bit torrent

speeds should be set to 80% your available bandwidth, port does not matter as long as upnp is working or you have port forwarding set up on your router.

Re: Build a computer - your choices

You could start by telling us which components you have selected.
CPU: go for Intel or AMD dual core, both very good - intel being more powerfull but linearly more expensive.

Hmm yeah, Maybe thats what I'm experiencing here.
  6. Re: Does your broadband feel unleashed yet? Join Geoff's test

Yeah fair enough, Even http traffic is excessively slow on this end. 13KBps in fact. My connection has passed speed tests at over 4Mbps!
  7. Re: Does your broadband feel unleashed yet? Join Geoff's test

They state that they will shape p2p during peak times, its outside peak times.
my mate can easily get 100kBps on p2p even during peak times but I cant get over 30, something is wrong here.
  8. Re: Does your broadband feel unleashed yet? Join Geoff's test

I thought i was the only one! Im lead to believe that maybe we're being traffic shaped despite it being offpeak (not right now, but it will still be slow in 3 hours)
  9. Re: Does your broadband feel unleashed yet? Join Geoff's test

My speeds are slightly faster - between 3.8 and 4.2Mbps but I cant seem to get a torrent to go at more than 30kBps which is pretty frustrating. And I'm talking about non peak times here.
    Somehow I...
  10. Re: Does your broadband feel unleashed yet? Join Geoff's test

Why do i feel that traffic shaping is in effect right now, when im clearly out of peak times?!

  16. Re: Does your broadband feel unleashed yet? Join Geoff's test

    Re: ipodservice.exe

Take a hint from the fact that when you run itunes, the service runs and becomes "automatic".
The reason for this is tha itunes will re-enable the service.
If you dont have an ipod then maybe...
