  1. Re: World War Two - Where did all the money come from?

    Primarily, it was financed through the issue of debt. The following two graphs show US debt and US deficit levels over time. The spike during WW2 can clearly be seen. Interestingly, US debt levels...

    Re: e-bikes and e-scooters

    Should add - I've spent a fair amount of time riding both - they're both fun. Ebike was definitely a lot more stable at high speeds than my road bike!

    e-bikes and e-scooters

    Hi all,

    At various times I've considered getting either an ebike or an escooter (or occasionally both, depending on how long it's been since my car last broke!). I'd be interested in hearing from...

    Re: I have no use for a cave man language

    Jesus Roscoe, why not just change the thread title to "I'm uneducated and racist"? It would be more accurate.

    Te Reo belongs with all of us - it is part of what makes Aotearoa unique and we all...

    Re: A Cricket Question

    Numbers have been worn in short format games for a considerable amount of time. While I'm not 100%, I believe this was done to make players easier to identify - especially if you're watching the game...

    Re: Screen resolution for dual monitor

    Should be. I have my 4k set at 2x scaling, and my 1080 at 1x. As far as I recall I just changed in using the default display settings without fuss.

    Re: PC mouse/keyboard lag

    Thanks all. I'll try working through a couple of the suggestions I haven't tried and seeing if that makes a difference. Of course, it hasn't done it since I made this post, so go figure :rolleyes:

    PC mouse/keyboard lag

    Hi all,

    Over the last couple of weeks input devices on my PC have started lagging. Not all the time and not often, but very strongly when they do. Keystrokes not registering, cursor movement...

    Benefits of a 4k monitor

    No question here, just a comment!

    After tossing up for a while, I finally pulled the trigger and moved from a 1080p monitor to a 4k one. All I can say is wow! I can't imagine going back to...

    Re: Ryzen 3600x Case

    Any full size ATX case that you like. Cases really don't matter as much as some people think.

    Having said that, finding one with decent cooling (so probably not 3 sided tempered glass) is always...

    Re: Is this the end of 'free' press in NZ?

    I completely agree. I also wish they'd stop running so many "comment" or "opinion" pieces - stick to hard hitting factually accurate reporting, and let people draw their own conclusions.

  18. Re: Python query - unrelated new function breaking existing function

    Good spot on the item/Items/items. That was me being a bit sloppy and careless when writing the post. It wasn't actual code, and all actual code referred to item as it should.

    I've found the issue...
  19. Python query - unrelated new function breaking existing function

    Hi all,

    I have a python script that basically works as follows:

    Items = pd.Dafaframe(some excel sheet)
    def FunctionA(items):
    try:
    """Does some stuff"""
    return(answer)

    I was wondering about that too. Or an advertised price for a future promotion, so of course when you went to the actual page you’d see the current non promo price.
