    Re: Reno

A few years ago I turned a bedroom into a bathroom, and the old bathroom into a laundry. When we ripped the old Shower and toilet out it turns out there had been a water leak somewhere and a large...

Re: Sync iTunes to Android Tablet

Why use data for music I already own, or pay a monthly fee to listen to it. And to hear new music there are other ways.
A 32gb microsd card holds a massive amount of music is very cheap and takes up...

Re: Sync iTunes to Android Tablet

Never used iTunes but you could try this https://www.androidauthority.com/how-to-transfer-music-itunes-android-230232/

I'm kinda anti streaming myself, all my music is stored locally.
  5. Re: What happens to your old computer equipment?

Built last year, it's in my signature. Went AMD for the first time since core 2 duos first released.
The graphics card was kept from my previous machine, no real need to upgrade that just yet....
  6. Re: What happens to your old computer equipment?

I only keep mine 2-4 years on average, then I sell them or give them away. Might seem wasteful but after that they have little to no resale value. That has changed a bit, a 5 year old PC today can...
  7. Re: Is there a file size limit for a USB drive?

I tried going exFAT a year or so ago but despite the interwebs claims to the contrary NTFS is more widely compatible in my personal experience so I switched back.
Many older devices or even some...

    Re: Vitamin C advertisements

I don't take tablets, but I don't like oranges either.

One persons preference has no bearing on anyone else.

Re: Windows 10 --- Latest Tech Preview

I'm guessing it helps to know about this stuff before your customers see it too.

I was in the insider program for the first couple of years, but then I had a need for that machine to be stable so...
  10. Re: "Canada: lights to go out on tiny remote island as locals agree to leave"

I was very disappointed by Waiheke, once you drive off the ferry it just feels like another Auckland suburb.

Re: Sundays Joke - I'm Sorry.

Personally I think that really depends on what you consider an alpha species. Put us alone and naked on an island full of wild animals including some apex predators and we are one of the least likely...

Re: Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds

There's a BBC 2 part mini series of the war of the worlds on TVNZ on demand if anyone's into that. Quite enjoyed it, much better than the Tom Cruise version IMHO.

Not much to do with the music of...

    Re: Invalid file uploads?

First problem is not enough information. Explain the process, upload to where? and how are you doing it?

We know you are trying to upload files in a browser and that's it, not much to go on.

    Re: EV Cars again

Really depends what the RUC costs, if it's the same as current diesel cars I think they will still be cheaper to run than a petrol vehicle but the margin will be much smaller.
    The biggest issue with...

    Re: EV Cars again

Does seem like a silly mistake for them to have made, wouldn't make me happy if I owned a Tesla.

But this is not specifically an EV problem IMO, it's a car manufacturing problem and they have been...

Re: Office 2019 vs Office 365

Just went through the validation process again to check costs.

    For me it is:
    $83.30 a year or $10 a month Office 365 personal
    $115.5 a year or $16 a month for Office 365 Home (6 user)

    So yeah...

Re: Office 2019 vs Office 365

Didn't mean to say it doesn't happen Wainui, and as a tech you are well placed to have examples. When it works out like that it is a good deal, not arguing that.

All I'm getting at is that it...

Re: Office 2019 vs Office 365

How many home users need pro though, most don't use a fraction of the features of office let alone pro.

I'd assume most who actually need pro and need to be up to date are well aware of the fact...

Re: Office 2019 vs Office 365

I guess it really comes down to how much you use office and how important being up to date is for you. For me personally Office hasn't added any new features I need in over 15 years and I would...

    Re: Windows 10 AntiVirus Protection

I'd say it depends. Either spend the money on a decent antivirus like perhaps NOD32 or just stick with defender and a couple other free tools and apply a decent amount of common sense.

Does the graphics card have DP++ because that should work even with a passive cable, the ++ indicates it can carry audio, hdmi, dvi signals over the DP port
Should be labelled or in the specs
