Re: What an absolute waste of money!

This is the correct assessment of the situation. You don't even need to be the biggest kid on the block. If they know that they will get hurt they won't attack in normal circumstances.
    That is true...
  3. Re: All policing should be based on the Peel Principles

I am not about to enter into another protracted argument with you tweak'e. At a guess you are still convinced Jacinda can keep Covid out of NZ.
  4. Re: All policing should be based on the Peel Principles

I am not suggesting that your interpretation of the law is incorrect just that you are describing how things should happen. I am describing how things do happen in the real world.
  5. Re: All policing should be based on the Peel Principles

You have described quite well what, in theory, should happen . In practical terms the government of the day makes the laws and changes them however they desire and the police are required to follow...
  6. Re: All policing should be based on the Peel Principles

Top cop is appointed by the PM. They do exactly what the government says they should do. They are not independent of the government in any way, shape or form.

The OP was not expecting the shooter to be Hispanic. Crazy idiots come in all varieties of race and religion.

    Re: Climate change?

Why anyone believes that paying a carbon tax has the slightest effect on the climate is beyond me. It is just a way of making some people very rich with an unaccountable trough to dip their snouts...
  12. Re: Electric aircraft in the near future? I don't think so.

That system worked well both for and against the Covid debate. :) Why would this subject be different?

My rule for online purchases is never to committ more money than I can afford to lose should the transaction fail to be forfilled for any reason.

Re: The government has given up on Covid

I don't know where you get your information from. The average rate of death is much the same as it has been, about 90 per day.
