Re: Places in Chch to try/buy headphones?

Audio Technica ATH-M50's have always been pretty good value for $. My only complaint is the vinyl ear muff parts get uncomfortable if wearing for more than an hour or so. You can buy velvet type ones...

Setup the account as IMAP, rather than POP. So you synchronize with online, rather than pull mail from online.

    Re: Troubleshooting Active Directory issues

Before you go any further make sure you have good backups, use Windows Backup to backup AD system state at least.

Consider opening a support case with MS. I think the cost is about $500, but that...

Re: Monitor recommendation VGA IPS 24"

Get your self a graphics card with digital outputs if you're serious about photo editing. VGA will never provide an image as good as DVI/Display Port/HDMI.

You're better off using IMAP on your devices, so the mail stays in sync.

    Re: Question RE Dick Smith

How is it "lots of shagging around" to ring their 0800 number, do some diagnostics over the phone and take it/send it in for repair? You will get the laptop back faster than if you had taken it to...

    Re: Question RE Dick Smith

Yes, it's usually quicker to take goods direct to HP for repair rather than going through the retailer anyway.

Re: New house - ADSL only - what/who to go with?

SPA112 are pretty solid. My folks use VFX, you plug it in, put in a configuration URL, tell VFX the MAC and that's it. I assume similar with 2talk.

    Re: Huawei HG 695

We are talking about a router that retails for sub $200 and is often given away here. Would I use one in a business critical situation or if hosting services? Hell no. For most consumers as an all in...

Re: New house - ADSL only - what/who to go with?

VOIP doesn't always play nice with CG-NAT. So if you go with BigPipe, make sure you pay the $45 one off cost for a static IP.

    Re: Huawei HG 695

The only router I can think of that doesn't work with other ISPs is the old Telecom 2Wire. I've used a Spark HG659 on Spark, 2Degrees, BigPipe, Vodafone & Slingshot with no issues. They are IMO one...

The Fassbender one. Saw it in the states. Not that the earlier one was very good either.

I'm not sure Apple fans care??

Not exactly news that he wasn't the nicest guy in the world. I saw it last year and it was pretty average.
