That may be the answer to my problem. Where did you get the Apple TV?. Could explain further about the HDMI glitch.?

    Re: Casting for Netflix

That is of interest. Unfortunately my Tablet has the latest OS and cannot be ungraded to cast to a Chromecast. I am not sure is Netflix is worth all my trouble.

    Re: Casting for Netflix

I understand what you are saying. Perhaps I should just upgrade to a decent smartphone. The one I have at present is a simple Vodafone Smart II which was all I needed.

    Re: Casting for Netflix

The only problem that I thought I might
have was setting it up with the PC in another room. but wainui tried it and it didn't appear to be a problem.

    Re: Casting for Netflix

Thanks. I think there are other devices like Roku etc that do the same job so I guess more research. Unless someone else comes up with a suggestion. Appreciate your help.

    It's a Samsung Tab2 GT-P5110 and only V4.2.2. I don't use it very much that is why I haven't bothered to upgrade.

    Re: Casting for Netflix

I have WiFi and no trouble using my old Tablet from the Lounge so the distance is apparently no problem, but I thought you needed to also see the TV Screen when setting Chromecast up.?

    Re: Casting for Netflix

I don't think the boss would appreciate a PC in the lounge. Not sure if a cheaper cellphone would do the job but what to get.? I used to tinker also but am a bit passed it all now.

    Casting for Netflix

I want to try Netflix on my non-smart TV. I was going to use Chromecast but my Tablet is old and without cast support. I have a simple cellphone that meets my needs.

I cannot view the TV from my...

    Re: Canon printer

I don't think this is confined to Canon a previous HP Printer did the same. How else do they make their money as they practically give the printers away.

That appears to be similar to my Canon MG5460. I am curious how you minimize the number of tanks, as I can hear the dollars ticking
over each time my printer is operated.

Thanks wainui, It looks like I need a Switch rather than a Splitter to enable the use of a Chromecast. I guess with any Electronics it may not work the way expected. We are on Vodafone Cable so that...

    Re: HDMI Splitter

That is the info' that I was after. I wasn't really sure what I needed or even if it would work. The TV has a USB port so hopefully that would take care of the power supply.

    HDMI Splitter

Want to try a Chromecast but both HDMI ports on TV are used. Can I use a Splitter to achieve this?. Are they satisfactory and if so do I need to look for a high quality unit?.

When did they put in your second Decoder.?

I guess we will just have to wait and see if an upgraded Decoder will solve the problem. It annoys me that when they change a Decoder you have to loose...
