    Ok, ran the seagate test on the hdd and it's fine. Contacted the shop and they said to return for a replacement. Fingers crossed everything works out.

    Just got a hard drive in an external USB2.0 enclosure but it either isn't detected by the computer (Windows XP) or it's detected it doesn't show up in My Computer and basically can't get in to it....

    The Imapi CD-burning com service is on manual -- what does that mean?

    They're burned CDs. Has stuff on them but the drive doesn't detect it and if I open it, it just shows blank.

    I found the file and renamed it. The error is gone now. Another problem though: it won't read CDs at all. Is it because something is physically wrong with the drive?
