Try replacing the cmos battery.
I had the same problem, wouldn't boot into Bios/uefi until I did that (the clock was still working fine tho).

How about setting the view as thumbnails, within the window, then hold down ctrl and roll your mouse scroll wheel back and forth until you get the size you desire.
Think this only happens if you have the Ribbon turned on in the window?
