    Yep exactly, but most people are of the opinion that its a NAS (same for external Drives) and some sort of device that wont fail. --- Till it does ;)

    No the data was recoverable (took over a week).The NAS software was Linux based and it was VERY badly damaged.

    Actually its not remote.

    1st thing I would do is copy all the data on the other drives to another external source. Just in case it all turns to custard, easier to do a backup which you should be doing anyway as other drives...
