Here's your problem...
I don't disagree with that, it is a "workaround" to the problem... the whole point behind "system paths" is to be able to "point the OS" to the correct locations for executable files/programmatic...
Also make sure that the Python path is set under System Variables and NOT User Variables.
In this day and age...it's better to "spend" on end-point protection... whilst Defender does an adequate job, it is not as good versus an offering such as ESET.
Stick with ESET, she will not...
I'm in Sydney, East Ryde, provider is Aussie Broadband... they have THE BEST service hands down. I used to be with Vodafone, then Telstra then Optus... they all sucked... Aussie BB has been awesome.
Fibre is obviously the better choice as it can support higher speeds but whether you can actually buy a service which is higher than 1Gbps is another story.
1Gbps is plenty for home use to be...
A UPS and a backup/alternate power supply are 2 different things in form and function...
A UPS is purely for the purpose of preventing damage to equipment due to unexpected power loss... it is not...
I'm on HFC here in Aussie 1Gbps/50Mbps (Down/Up) - hasn't skipped a beat and the performance is fantastic...currently waiting to hear back about upping the upload speed to about 100Mbps at least....
I also experienced random crashes to the desktop when gaming (I play Division 2 - and disclaimer, there is a known issue with the game randomly crashing since the last title update but this is...
Have a look at this thread to get an idea of the rationale behind a MS Account
Yeah I wouldn't remove Edge, as it's heavily integrated into the OS itself...you may find other things breaking or not working correctly within the OS... proceed with caution.
Yes the games have to be "installed" on the Xbox disk drive. If it's taking too long, it is possible there are 2 issues:
1) It's a mechanical HDD, so reading data from a disk and then writing it...
If you're logged into the machine using a MS account then you can install the SSD and then re-install or clone the current HDD to the SSD.
As long as you continue logging in with your MS account...
It "should" be fine, if that's all you're doing. You might be hard pressed to get a GPU that still has DVI (you might have to go to a GTX970/980Ti).
You monitor is likely going to stop you from...
Wise words...
I think another important thing to remember is determining how important your data is to you.... if you can stand "losing" it then backups/remote/NAS storage is probably not required...
If you are going to invest in a NAS I highly recommend getting one that has at least 4 disk bays, anything with fewer bays offers a "nominal" level of network based storage redundancy which is...
+1 for Wainui's comments....
I have 2 NAS units, all initial backups of my system go to the primary unit. I have also recently migrated all my data from my M.2's and SSDs to that NAS as well,...
What is the make and model of your motherboard?
I wouldn't be so quick to judge System Restore so harshly...and I wouldn't say it's useless. It just needs to be configured to suit your needs...
Yes restore points can and will be deleted by...
Try EaseUS's Partition Master offering....they have a free version you can download here
I have the full version and it has never let me down. I'm not too sure if the Free version allows cloning...
Ah ok, yeah that is a "reset to factory default" for an OEM computer.
Thanks for that one Wainui... I didn't know that about Windows 10 S - seen as almost never buy OEM computers.
Apologies for the long post - but the answers to your queries are not straight forward...
a) Are there pros and/or cons for setting up through a local account or a Microsoft account?

There is "currently" no discernible performance difference between NVMe on PCIe Gen 3 vs PCIe Gen 4. Whilst the Gen 4 platform has theoretically higher speeds, there are very few (if any) NVMe...
