    Re: Super 8 film conversions

Thanks. They're handy and I can check them out.
Your latest link says they started in 2013 so that could be OK.
80s/90s is a long time ago and presumably better technology now.
    I would also...

    Re: Super 8 film conversions

Really I wanted to see if anyone's used a particular firm, and what their impressions of the cost, service and quality of result are.

Yellow Pages are useless for that purpose. In addition they're...

    Re: Super 8 film conversions

Most (all?) of the results in your link seem about converting slides or negatives to digital. I've done a lot of that myself and it's not what I want in this case, which is to convert super 8 (movie)...

    Re: Super 8 film conversions

    I'm in Auckland.
Just hoping not to go too much by guesswork when deciding who to get for the job.
I do have an old super 8 projector that hasn't been used for 40+years and which I might be able to...

    Super 8 film conversions

I've got some 40+ years old super 8 films that I want to have converted to digital.
Checking with Google, there seems a number of firms in NZ that say they can do the job, most claiming their work...

Re: Excel - Visual basic request

If you want to try VBA, something like the following might do it reasonably quickly
    Sub every6th()
    Dim a, c&, i&, j&
    a = Range(Cells(5, 1), Cells(Rows.Count, 1).End(3)).Resize(, 4)
    For i = 1 To...

    Re: american pendulum and malware

I kind of figured that too but thought I'd ask.

Maybe shows that top of Google search doesn't mean good. But I guess we know that too.

    american pendulum and malware

When doing some searches on some malware, I came upon a site called American Pendulum.

It's easy to find; top of the Google search.

I'm interested in any feedback about this site, and whether...

Re: Buying a laptop/ laptop deals

You could have a look at PriceSpy. Maybe helpful info for you there.
  11. Re: YouTube audio through remote (wireless) speakers

Nothing at all to do with the Airport Express.

Just a TDK (3 individual speakers) that I used for direct computer output for several years. It has an adequately good sound for the job, very much...
  12. Re: YouTube audio through remote (wireless) speakers

Thanks. I'll be interested to have a good look at that.

But any thoughts on an alternative, non-Airport Express, device that will do this, that is, stream the audio part of video files wirelessly...
  13. Re: YouTube audio through remote (wireless) speakers

    Hmm ...

That seems a good definitive answer.

But the question was really raised in a Windows context.
The only way Apple seems involved here is I'm using their Airport Express 'coz it's the...
  14. Re: YouTube audio through remote (wireless) speakers

    It doesn't appear.

The only 3 options listed under Control Panel -->Sounds -->Playback are:
Speakers/HP 2ITD high definition audio (default)
Headphones (RTC) 2ITD high definition audio (not...
  15. YouTube audio through remote (wireless) speakers

No problem with using wires, but I want to do this by wireless. Using Win7 professional.

It seems Belkin and Logitech (maybe others) make devices whereby can access remote speakers with Bluetooth....

Re: Win 7 Home Security Trojan - Malwarebytes

    Hey,

i'm not sure what you mean by this.

The link to BleepingComputer. Is this site itself the fake / rogue software, or does this site detect (and remove?) other fake /rogue software?
  19. Re: Greater wireless range, 5milewifi, Engenius EUB 362, & ?

I'd like to know more about about comparative performances. The ones I mentioned do as far as I know have a pretty fair performance, but before paying up I'd like to know more.

    A google search for...

Re: Knoppix. Useful for file recovery?

    Gary67,

That's TestDisk. It was one of the ones I tried, as in my opening post.

Yes, it can recover files with RAW format, but for a 300gb it's very slow, and (at least in the time I spent on...

So I suppose, like you, I'll have to continue using the windows based recovery utilities.
