Using Macrium Reflect I made an image of my wife's laptop - C (only) drive, to an external hard
drive.
Next wanted, for extra safety, to make a further image of the laptop drive to a spare...
All fixed now, have Nod 32 installed on both my desktop and laptop. MANY thanks for all your help, wainui, both here and otherwise
Yes, that's the same page that I had just accessed, wainui. For some peculiar reason the page does not give prices for two devices? (ie a desktop and a laptop).
PS - you may well get a pm shortly.
Sorry, not trying to highjack the thread, but just wanted to ask, is the basic enough? Is the Advanced version worth the difference in price? I see Hackers are mentioned for the Advanced.
Many thanks for all the comments folks, you have certainly made my mind up - I will definitely make images not clones! (no disrespect blanco).
I don't doubt you at all, Bryan, but just so I hopefully understand, doesn't Macrium Reflect, and other similar software, take the partitions away during the process of creating a clone?
Many thanks for the feedback piroska and 1101, gives me more confidence. Also, here is an image of Macrium's arrangement of my drives. I have put an arrow from the main SSD to the SSD that the...
On my desktop, I have an SSD for Windows, programs etc and a separate hard drive for data. By a peculiar set of circumstances, partly connected with covid, I also have a second SSD which has an...
Thanks Chakira and wainui, thanks to this thread I have changed my power plan settings. :clap
If someone with multiple personalities threatens to kill himself, is it considered a hostage situation? :illogical
Apart from working my way through everyone's suggestions, I also checked the Task Manager, at the time that part of the backup was working, ie Lightroom. I noticed that a very high user was Dropbox,...
Actually, feersumendjinn, by a peculiar quirk of fate I do have an SSD drive that is essentially spare. It's a long story.
It is a 465GB Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus 500GB
As my existing external...
For some reason, this app Ghostery, invaded my space. I pressed a link on a trusted email to view the contents of a group that I am a member of. Got the message -- did I really trust this site,...
Just to let you know that I am not sitting back, but have started off the checks and researching the ideas, etc.
I have three external drives for my backups, one of which is kept at our...
Thanks guys, I am REALLY appreciative of all of the ideas, resources, etc that you have suggested. At the moment, some of it appears above my limited expertise, but I will work my way gradually...
I am currently doing a backup from "Pictures" on my desktop to one of my external hard drives using Windows 10 and USB3. Having over 32,000 photos it can take a while, which is okay.
However, apart...
Hi Agent_24, just checked to be sure, to be sure. On the Adobe Forum (which is an official forum) in the last couple of days there have been queries relating to Lightroom 6, one of which was how to...
Just carried out a search and the Adobe site says that Lightroom 5 onwards are still supported. Earlier versions are not (ipso facto, which means that people can still use versions 4 and prior, but...
Never seen or heard of this, Agent _24. We bought a license with no end date,so no way to enforce this. Sounds like a conspiracy theory! I, for one, don't hate Adobe, it is that their subscription...
Brilliant wainui, you are a marvel !! :clap :clap How you found that, I don't know, but it worked. I initially tried the pressing "f", but no joy.
However, I kept watching and she said to use...
Yes, what happens is that it is not fully opening and is not in a "window". It is stuck at the top of the screen and does not have the buttons top
right - to minimise, to resize or to close. The...
On my cellphone a message from this site has taken up residence. Once a day, at least, I get a message encouraging me to join their scam. It says it is sent through the Edge browser. I can no longer...
For, it seems, years now, I have constantly seen adverts amongst my browsing, even for websites such as
the Washington Post or The Guardian. They seem so believable and inviting, such as that...
Understandably that seems expensive to you, decibel. However be glad that you didn't have my doctor. Cost me $150, ouch!
