    Re: Age is a *****

Well Ken, it comes to us all. To console yourself, think of Dr Ebenezer Teichelmann who used to carry those huge wooden cameras and glass plates all over the Southern Alps to take fabulous alpine and...

Like I said, free for us over the hill types... Even then it is only free for us for a strictly limited period. We have both had it done; I have had shingles twice and don't want a third experience...

Not to mention shingles - the free vaccination for us over the hill types is ongoing at the moment.

Re: Is this the end of 'free' press in NZ?

Scary stuff (no pun intended). Actually I have noticed recently that there seems to be a different "flavour" to some of Stuff's reportage on NZ politics. It seems to be more in line with the NZ...

Nice obit to Little Richard in one of the British news sites. Apparently someone once said to Little Richard that he was one of Mick Jaggers' heroes. "Of course, said Little Richard, 'where do you...

Re: The Very Model of a Modern Stable Genius

Excellent, thanks. I was amused by the reference to Mussolini because in some other parody the other day Trump was referred to as "Il Douche"!
  7. Re: We are worrying about the wrong things.............

One article I read said they are about the size of a man's thumb, and that photo suggests that may be approx right. Of course, not Trump's thumbs.

    Re: Alone. Together.

Crikey, if you want a tear jerker you can always rely on a solo cello in the right hands. And as for your comments Ken, have a look at Jacqueline Du Pres playing (is that the right word in her case?)...

Re: And another great has gone

There you go, I was right. You were just a bit slow on this one. I met him, along with Bill Oddie, John Cleese, and Graham Chapman when they came to NZ (in 1965?) as part of Cambridge Circus...

I thought you were going to refer to Tim Brooke-Taylor, Ken. He also died, but from covid9, sadly.

    Re: Toner Leak

If you are in Canterbury you could try NZ Toner Office Supplies. They were excellent under their previous ownership; I haven't had a laser printer for about 8 years so I am out of date. They used to...

Whilst I am sure you are right wainui, I used refilled toner cartridges for over 5 years from NZ Toner Catridges (not sure I have the name 100% correct) in ChCh. Not a single problem.

My Sennheiser behaved as poorly as Ken's - possibly worse. My Bose headphones using bluetooth are not at all sensitive to position in relation to whatever is transmitting. I can walk around the house...

I did the same, paired with an Avanti Audikast bluetooth transmitter for the TV. Absolutely brilliant - I can listen to the TV at the volume I need for my hearing, whilst SWMBO listens to the TV...

    Is VoLTE enabled by default?

For Samsung handset users, VoLTE is set to be default on for VoLTE capable devices, so customers with an S9 or S10 will see...

Re: Old age is a bummer

I think mine cost $2500 per side, and there was a government subsidy of $500 per side, so the whole bill was $4000 including all testing, consultations and an annual checkup. The government subsidy...
