    At work, The last 2 UPS's we replaced batts in , both sets of batts failed within 6 months. One lasted less than a week.

    1Tb is a lot of data to upload . If you only have ADSL its not going to be practical
    I would look for other options , copy to HD & store that HD somewhere offsite

    If its the standard AV red, white yellow, and distances are short, you could probhably get away with twisted wire pairs (unshielded). Thats easy to solder onto RCA plugs
