W10 “upgrade” leaves desktop black!
Thank you very @#$&* much Microsoft for “upgrading” W10 and leaving my desktop background black with no sign of my custom one!
Yes yes I know it’s fairly easy to choose your own but for many of our friends in the 70s or 80s it will be daunting.
How hard would it have been for MS to have given it a test run?
Re: W10 “upgrade” leaves desktop black!
The 2004 has been out since April, so its not a "test run"
When the Desktop Picture is removed its sometimes caused by the way the person has made it, meaning if someone sees a picture on the internet or a external drive and tells it to save as Desktop, its only in the temp / cached Files, so when upgraded all temp files are removed. Its easy enough if its a custom photo to get back.
To get custom pictures back Press Windows Key + R, paste or type in
%AppData%\Microsoft\Windows\Themes\CachedFiles
Sometimes its
%AppData%\Microsoft\Windows\Themes\TranscodedWallp aper
Theres the wallpaper, simply copy out to say the pictures folder then right click set as desktop, it wont get lost again.

Thanks.
The PC “upgraded” last night.
The desktop photo was in My Docs.
