And the Winner is........

Re: And the Winner is........
.....a senile old fool who can't remember his wife's name and calls the President George repeatedly until his wife corrects him.
I'll give him 4-6 months before he loses it or dies and 'merica has it's first black female Prez.

Re: And the Winner is........
I heard that yesterday, the Trump University was giving Trump the lead in all 72 States!

I think he will try to heal the country. She will be the powerhouse in this term, then the next President.

Re: And the Winner is........
I believe that Trump likes the White House and is claiming “Squatters Rights”.
A hearing is planned for 2035 or later. ;)

Re: And the Winner is........
Trump will pardon himself and his whole family :( :(
-
Re: And the Winner is........
I don't think he can do that. For a pardon, he has to walk away soon and let Pence take over as president for the remaining days, then Pence can then pardon him.

Don't see how she's black. Her mother came from India and her father from Jamaica. Not the traditional "African American" as they are called these days. My granddaughter is Jamaican father and her mother European and she is darker than Harris.

How is Megan Markle "black".
However first woman vice president, and one of assorted ethnic backgrounds......good on her.
Good on the president for choosing her too.
He might be old but it's an improvement on that idiot and his fake everything cries.

Re: And the Winner is........
Notice how Biden hardly used the words "me" or "I"?
Great to have a president whose ego isn't as big as his little willy :)

72 if you include all the countries the US meddled in , leaving them in a 'state' of disrepair :)
Some are allready saying Biden will be a lame duck Pres, as the Democrats dont control the senate , so cant pass any laws .
The US have a strange Political system , good at limiting power, bad at getting things done/fixed .
Watch & wait , as we'll hear more & more stories come out ,of Biden groping women . is he no better than Trump in that respect ?

Fits nicely into his tweet: "I WON THIS ELECTION, BY A LOT" he said, in caps...

You appear to be one of the few commenting to actually have some understanding of the USA's political system.
Biden is not the President elect until declared as such on the 14th of December (splitting straws I know)
There are some very bright people examining all aspects of the recent election. Expect some legal challenges of votes in the key states as a result. It probably will not make any difference but it did in Florida for the Bush - Al Gore election I recall.
-
Re: And the Winner is........
Hmm how many times did Jeb Bush have Florida do recounts until his brother George magically had enough votes. Its happened to one Republican and it could happen again.
-
Re: And the Winner is........
We now know there are around 70 million morons in the USA these are the people who voted for Trump and I include any Trump supporters in NZ as moronic as well.

Re: And the Winner is........
all to easy to pass judgement on trump voters from a distant NZ
A high percentage of the US are very conservative in beliefs and values. That doesnt make them morons .
a vote for trump was a vote against US troops being incloved in unwinnable wars
a vote against US paying for Euro defense (NATO) when the Europeans didnt want to pay their share
a vote against out of control protests turning to anarcy , pulling down statues , political correctness taken to extremes .
a vote against Democrats
a vote against the old ways of doing things Polictically ,
a vote againt the old school Democrats & Republicans
a vote against locking down the whole country & totally destroying whats left of their economy ( Aucklanders ***** & moan when put back into lockdown for even a week)
1st pres to defuse the Nth Korean issue , after how many decades ?
Yes he is an arse , but
He didnt hide who he was or predend to be someone else. Most Presidents had put a on a fake persona , Trump doesnt .
Biden, his past is coming back to haunt him allready. Possibly no better than trump as a person .
At least with trump , you knew exactly what you were getting .
Wait and see, Biden wont be able to do any better . The US economy has been on borrowed time and borrowed money for over a decade.
Its a country in decline , economically , morally & socially . That cant be fixed with a change of President.

About the only thing I would add to your list is that a Vote for Trump was a vote for the continuation of movement towards peace in the Middle East.
I will also add the thought for the more partisan commenters that just because someone has an opinion different to yours it does not mean they are an idiot any more than it means that you are.

You make some excellent observations 1101.
May I just add that about 160,000,000 voted, and the margin between the two party’s is zilch.
Given the state of the polls, and allowing for the “Media Hate” of Trump, I think on a level playing field Trump may have won.
At the end of the day though, I sit back, scratch my head, pour another Gin, and console myself with the knowledge there was Sweat “F/A” I could have done about it. :)

labour is not communist, you're still confused over what that is. No-one has had a real communist government in the world.
Unions is why you don't work 12 hr days 6 1/2 days anymore.
Even if they did swing to the other extreme for a while.

The NZ Labour party is Communist? That makes as much sense as Trump's Twitter page.
You want to see actual Communism, go to China...
New Zealand is practically the opposite.

Er no.
noun: communism
a theory or system of social organization in which all property is owned by the community and each person contributes and receives according to their ability and needs.
China is another dictatorship.
Nothing to do with ability and needs.
-
Re: And the Winner is........
In this article, Sir Vince Cable describes the ways in which China is both capitalist and also communist as well as the economic challenges it faces.
Hard to understand ehhh.
More a dictatorship's when you look at Hong Kong and NE China province re-education.

I think one could make a fairly good case to declare China “Capitalist”.
There are Millions of very, very, wealthy Chinese, some of whom own a fair chunk of NZ, both business and property wise. ;)
Crusher Collins could provide some interesting insight into this. :D

Re: And the Winner is........
"Humans are too selfish"
and also the attitude is get most of the monkeys working and then sell what they produce at a profit to you, the middleman, whilst not producing anything yourself.
It then becomes a game between the middlemen to get the best houses, cars, political power, etc with the money they have made by selling the products the monkeys are continuing to make in their unenlightened state.

Re: And the Winner is........
The kākāpō has been crowned Bird of the Year in an election that had it all; a delayed start, alliances, and voter fraud.

What about the non-working monkeys, of which there are many, that sit in front of their Smart TV all day and expect the working monkeys to keep them in the manner they are accustomed, by way of taxes, paid to the government, by the said working monkeys?

Re: And the Winner is........
Hopefully they've already done their productive bit during earlier years and paid their respective taxes to cover their parasitic behaviour later on in their lives.

AND paid a 60% tax rate on Saturday overtime in the 70s
AND paid 18% interest on mortgages in the early 90s

Oh right. Neither my father nor my mother did that sort of thing while at school.
My mum had a job, but then sometimes she didn't either.
My dad retired early, not cause he was rich, because of health...he got ACC for 6 months then they booted him off it and they lived on my mums pay for a bit until she could retire. (And she was older than him).
Stop generalising.
Not all beneficiaries are lazy people.
My brother is one, he has had 2 jobs in his entire life. NOt for lack of trying either.
And friend of mine, she doesn't work now due to major health issues, and her partner lost his on covid.....he has only just been back at a job in the last 3 weeks.
They had to apply for the dole...because of her, WINZ decided they would get Supported Living instead which is better than the $401.20 they would have been on, by not much...
They have a mortgage.

What I find fascinating is the insanity of how much money is spent globally on things nobody actually needs, like Coca Cola.
Imagine if all the time and energy and marketing and money spent producing such junk food was spent on something worthwhile.

You have conveniently not added all these Attachment 10585 together which the lazy bludger is bound to be claiming.
The average Superannuant has contributed his/her share over 45 years or more, whereas the bludger’s have contributed nothing, and taken everything they can get their hands on.

18% Luxury my second mortgage went to 25% thanks to the communist government at the time. Seems every time I went to the letterbox there was a increase in mortgage letter there. I had to get flatmates in and work in a restaurant after hours in Blenhiem Air Force pay not enough with my drinking habit. Thanks to rampant inflation though it wasnt so bad.

Average? And some haven't.
Likewise MOST beneficiaries end up on the dole for a short period, between jobs. NOt left school, sat on their arse forever as you continually imply.
As for bludger...did I not say my brother has had 2 jobs in his life? For not terribly long...the first was about 2 years, the second about 10 I think...but that's it.
The first was a factory (cleanup) job owned by someone he knew..the second was where my dad worked, he had been headhunted and made my brothers employment a condition.
Never mind my brother tried, he even did the same IT course I did, he got interviews after ...but the minute they saw him the excuses rolled in.
Go complain about the companies and people that do that instead.
Now of course he's doomed, his eyesight is nearly gone and he'll never have another job.
Guess that lumps in to your "bludger" category, doesn't it.
-
Re: And the Winner is........
If you look at the bell-shaped curve for society in general, there are people with above average abilities and gifts, the top of the curve, most people in the middle of the curve with average abilities, and the lowest part of the curve which is composed of people destined to struggle to keep up plus the "genetic defect bulge" where there are quite a number of individuals with various handicaps and impediments.
The mark of an advanced humanitarian society is to help all within the society and try to find a place for everyone so that all can feel that they are contributing in some way to the common good, if it increases the market, hence creating jobs, then being given a benefit and using it to consume/stay alive is a valid occupation.

Nope, they havnt contibuted enough to cover their pensions .
They havnt contributed enough to cover what the govt spent on their behalf. Hence all the debt that the next generations will be paying off.
The super/pension relies on future generations paying for it.
So the next generation of workers, will paying for the old govt debt , and the super/pension of the oldies who racked up that debt, and paying the pensioners hospital expenses .
Super/pension is WELFARE . Its not something they paid for . No different than anyone else on welfare , someone else is paying for it.
Why should I get Superannuation , if Im sitting on a $1Million house (just an very av 1960s small house) .
It will all come crashing down soon enough, the ratio of workers to those on benefits (incl super) will get so low it will no longer be sustainable .
-
Re: And the Winner is........
You know the welfare system has become a nonsense , when someone I know , who's wife is on a good salary, was getting govt handouts (family support or similar).
they saved those govt handouts to help pay for family trips to Aus .
Unsustainable .
it all needs to be rolled back, incl super to those who dont need it, incl those who hide assets in trusts .
-

What a pity we don't live in one.
