Why PCI? Seems a low end choice for media centre PC...

The slimline DVD units can be quite be expensive as well.

What kind of case are you going to put all this in?

Can you give us a list of specs for this media centre pc, that might be a little more helpful.

Cheers

How about the fanless 4670?

And I think you mean PCI express....

What form factor is the mobo?

Found this (http://www.ascent.co.nz/productspecification.aspx?ItemID=371221) on ascent.

Not sure if it's what your looking for but it was the only one that had 2 dvi ports, was PCI, and low profile. I agree with chiefnz though, AGP or PCI-E would be a better option, especially if you plan to watch HD content.

As for the laptop drive, I couldn't find anything :(.

PCI. as thats the only slot on this mobo.

I no sum of the drives are costly. but have seen sum aaround $129.

PC is:
Dell Optiplex GX520 SFF
MOBO: Dell Inc, OUT806
Intel Pentium D, 820, 2.80GHz, Daul core.
2gb Kingston DDR2 800MHz ram (2x 1gb low profile sticks)
WD 750gb sata hard drive.
CDRW/DVD combo drive.

The mother board is a BTX and is a SFF version only has 1 PCI slot. Case has 2 PCI slots.

NOP IS A PCI. (NOT PCI-E)

You could try looking on price spy (http://pricespy.co.nz/cat_16.html#g30), just remember to do your homework (http://www.gpforums.co.nz/thread/297771/) on the various stores.

A graphics card in that machine will really strain the power supply...It should be OK but I wouldnt give the power supply a big life expectancy.

The way that I did it when I wanted an external dvd dual layer drive was to get an external optical disk drive case and then grab an oem dvd drive. Think the whole thing set me back about $70

Dont want a external drive. Maybe if I but a external 1 and rip the drive out of it?

Today I picked up a New DVD-RAM Matshita UJ870QJ ATA slim drive and installed it. Also brought 2x new 2m DVI-D (24+1) cables to upgrade my stock DVI cables.

Hope to get the graphics card tomorrow.

Just to let you all no I got the graphics card and installed easy and still running with out and problems. Running 2 Phillips 22" lcd monitors.

Is a very nice card and you get a full size PCI slot bracket with it 2. :)

I have installed sum heatsinks on sum of the chips on the mobo and grahics card also. The stick on thermal type headsink units.
