So does Mozilla close? Or does the whole PC shutdown?

Follow the steps posted here if it is just firefox:
http://win-help.co.cc/?p=10

If it is the whole PC shutting down, then does it BSOD or restart?
Disable Auto reboot. Right ClickMy Computer>Properties>Advanced>Under Start up and recover select settings>Untick auto restart

As for the slow startup, download HijackThis and run it, then post a log here:

Follow the instructions on the link I gave you, it will tell you how to find the addon culprit and how to fix a corrupt profile

And what about other programs? DO they work normally? Did you try to reinstall Mozilla?
I have been using Mozilla for a long time and it showed higher stability than any other piece of software.

Mozzilla is great as i have IE disabled .all programs are fine for a while then my cursor freezes.I guess that means my system is infected.I have AVG and spybot search and destroy but nothing shows in the scans
