Quite a difference between the 2 tests.
Were they both at similar times.
Mine is always slow, but I'm south of you.

I'm with Vodafone and I don't get any thing like that speed. I think they must be ripping me off I don't even get 1Gig down and about 345Mb/s up. They tell me nothing is wrong.I use a laptop with a Merlin xu870 Express card to connect with. How do you connect?

I recently changed to Vodafone from slingshot.
I was good for a couple of weeks but is now very slow.
The 1st speed tests on Vodafone were around 750kb/sec
Compared to 350 on slingshot.
Did quite a few speed tests today on 8 different speed testers.
Ranged from 120kb/sec to 521
Downloading a file on Vuze at the moment & it's romping through at about 95kb/sec

Are you sure you types that correct?? Donít you mean a 1GB bandwidth cap and 345kb/s?? down?

You can't get 1Gb download speeds in NZ...

And I think he meant 345Mb download speeds not 345MB

You *can* do a little bit of work and easily find out where the issue lies.
First off, grab WinMTR and run two tests. One to your ISP's website, another to TradeMe. Each time let it do around 25-50 runs.
Do this for 3 days, 3x a day (Say around breakfast, lunch & dinner if you can). I say 3 days so that you can make sure at least one day is a weekday. You'd be surprised what a difference it can make. If you're unable to be at your PC, try using the Task Scheduler.

Also, contact your ISP, find out the speed in which you're connected to the ADSL Exchange at.

You can also review your modem, better quality modems can sometimes improve speeds / connection reliability no end :)

Let us know how you get on

Cheers
