Hi all,

I'm looking at this Cooler Master X Craft 350 Lite, 3.5" SATA/IDE to USB 2 & eSATA, Enclosure (http://www.ascent.co.nz/productspecification.aspx?ItemID=372140) and wanted to know if anyone has used one. Good or bad points.

I see there is no heat transfer pad, but according to the YouTube sales pitch (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XbpBiVBaQM0) this won't be a problem.

I'm looking for the versatility of both PATA and SATA internal connections with E-SATA and USB 2 external connections.

Cheers. :)

Coolermaster make good stuff generally.
Looks handy - doing various drives.

I have the IDE/USB version of that (no SATA/eSATA). It's good, but occasionally drops the USB connection and requires a power-cycle to get it to connect to the host again. Returned the first one, and the second one exhibited the same trait - so I suspect it's a design flaw.

Other than that, it's been brilliant :-).

Thanks for the opinions.

Hopefully this model doesn't suffer the USB dropouts. I will mainly be using E-SATA anyway. :)

Hi Jen,

How did you get on? I'm considering one of these instead of a "My Book" for the drive flexibility.

Any recommendations on where to buy would be welcome, having trouble finding somewhere that stocks them without getting ripped off!

Cheers,

Rich

I haven't ordered it yet, but most likely be getting it from Ascent. Many of the other shops that listed the same product had the IDE or SATA only models, not the combined IDE/SATA. You need to check the product descriptions carefully.
