Yes, I know that you know what I'm going to say.

I have installed that stupid update!:crying:crying:crying

Now it's saying that I don't have "Genuine Office Software".:crying
I have to recieve the notice every time I start Office 2003:crying

What do I do now? Am I stuck with it forever? Will reinstalling Office work?

System Restore doesn't work...
there is no entry in Startup for "Office Genuine Validation"
Scanning the registry for any keywords of "genuine" doesn't work...
Killing the process doesn't work because it just starts again...
Microsoft Support says that it is not uninstallable unless you make it genuine...

Try running this:

go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012

There is a way (it wont remove it tho). But it'll stop it

BUT, I dont know if we should be helping people who use illegal keys for Office or Windows. Even if this update installs automatically

If you are sure you are running a legal version of office, you can also try ringing MS

Blams point is VERY valid - is it genuine software - in other words do you have the COA / product key that came with it when you brought it ?

If you have the genuine product key you can call MS and they will sort it ,if Not -----

There is one particular version of Office 2003 that is lets say not legit, but the key works and theres plenty of it floating about - seen that message many times since the WGA for office came up.

If you are unsure of the product key, down load magicjelyybean (http://magicaljellybean.com/keyfinder/) run it post back the first set of numbers/letters (not the whole key) and I can tell you if its the version I mentioned above.
