Start > run > cmd

ipconfig /release should release all your IP's
check they are all 0.0.0.0 with ipconfig
ipconfig /renew will grab the IP info back from the DHCP server
check again with ipconfig

Test your speed, if you are still not happy, you will need to start a new thread asking for help for spyware removal.

All else fails try phoning your ISP http://www.metrocast.com/contact.cfm

There is not one stitch of spyware/adware on this computer ! My new power supply came in yesterday and I installed it as well as my original sata hard drive back in the computer this morning with a Fresh copy of my windows XP program .

I am not sure what you are refering to with my ipconfig , I accessed it exactly how you informed me to . I copied this information and pasted it on here immediately . My cable service is with a company called Metrocast out of the Oxford , Mississippi area . I have had it for a few months and have been somewhat satisfied but occasionally have been very disappointed with the speed I get at times . I show when testing the service that I have 5400 KBps download and 376 KBps upload . I dont know if this is good or not , you guys are supposed to be the experts .

I am using the motorola modem that they provided and can relate to a terrible time that I experienced with Comcast before they went to their other type modems .

My instructions above will ensure you will connect freshly to your modem.

If no better I would find a local speed test site and run a few tests each day for a few days, record this data then go to your ISP with your issues.
