I've had to reinstall Windows on my Eee, so I created a new Windows XP (Home Edition) disc, slipstreamed it with SP3 (the original disc was SP1), IE7, WMP11 and Firefox, and removed extra keyboards and languages. However, it won't accept my product key, and won't let me skip entering it wither. What's happening? :badpc: (Could I try a different product key?)

ring MS and ask them they are open 24/7

I had a similar problem.
Try installing XP Home SP1 or SP2 version first, activate it and then add SP3 from download or disc (If you have one)

Worked for me:)

OK, I'll try a different disc with SP2 instead.

Is the disk you're using the same one that came with the licence key? There are variations between OEM and retail versions of XP disks/keys, which may cause the sort of problems you are experiencing.

I used the same disc that came with the key to make the nLite'd disc.

Have you tried it without integrating FF/IE7 etc?

Are you using an external optical drive?

I integrated SP2 instead of SP3, and it worked perfectly. Thanks minster. :)

Some times SP3 wont accept SP2 or SP1 product keys - what minster suggested usually fixes this problem - had it happen several times myself.
