Hi Everyone

When I got my PC it came with WMP11.

How do I remove it?
I've tried going to Add/Remove Programs/ tried searching in \WINDOWS, looked it up in Microsoft Support but none of them works.

Unless it was installed over WMP10 (or a previous version), you cant uninstall it.

it came standard with vista like IE. the only way you can get rid of it is through a slip streamed installation, am i right speedy?

System Restore to a date before it was installed?

Yup, altho, if you remove IE, WMP and OE in a Nlite slipstream.

It may affect a few things.

Assuming its Windows XP -

Open Add/remove Programs, on the left, select Add/ Remove windows Components - when the box opens - Scroll down, untick Windows Media Player - click OK and wave Bye bye to WMP11.

Mind you it may also affect other windows components that need WMP.


If its Vista - you cant go back AFAIK WMP10 doesn't work in Vista.
